Hearing Aids

An audiologist is the most qualified professional to provide competent hearing aid evaluations and fittings. Audiologists hold masters or doctoral degrees from accredited universities with special training in the prevention, identification, assessment, and non-medical treatment of hearing disorders. Our licensed and certified audiologists–Alexandra Cortese, Au.D., Emily J. Cossaboon, Au.D., Jody L. Eddy, M.S., Cherise S. Keane, Au.D., Mark A. Lisi, Au.D.–are knowledgeable about a wide variety of hearing aids and assistive listening devices (ALDs).  We dispense several types and styles of hearing aids ranging from basic to premium level digital technology from a wide variety of manufacturers. Our audiologists are here to assist you in selecting the best hearing aid(s) for your hearing loss to ensure that they are meeting your individual needs.

Because it is in your best interest to have a medical evaluation of your ears by a physician who specializes in diseases of the ear, we recommend that you schedule an appointment with one of our board certified otolaryngologists prior to scheduling an evaluation for hearing aid(s). Once you are medically cleared by the physician, you will be scheduled for a formal hearing aid evaluation with one of our licensed audiologists.

During your hearing aid evaluation, your hearing needs will be discussed and you will be advised about what hearing aid(s) are best suited to your hearing loss and lifestyle. If necessary, we will take silicon impressions of your ears so that hearing aid(s) or earmold(s) fit your unique measurements. Expect to spend about an hour for your hearing aid evaluation. Many people find that it is helpful to have a family member accompany them to the hearing aid evaluation. We highly encourage you to bring a trusted companion with you. Your new hearing aids will be ready approximately two weeks from the time they are ordered.

Your next appointment with your audiologist will be a hearing aid fitting. At your hearing aid fitting appointment, you will learn the proper use and care of your hearing aid(s). For most people, this appointment will be one hour. Adapting to your new hearing aid(s) is a process and your audiologist is adept at walking you through each step. Expect several appointments after your initial fitting to help you make the best use of your new hearing aid(s).

Our audiologists are always available to assist you with your hearing aid(s) even long after your purchase. We can help you to achieve your best hearing possible with hearing aid(s) that fit your unique personality and lifestyle.
