Hearing Aids

Our licensed and certified audiologists evaluate hearing, tinnitus (ringing), dizziness and balance problems. We dispense and repair a large variety of hearing aids and other hearing assistive devices. We also can help manage problems with dizziness.

Because it is in your best interest to have a medical evaluation of your ears by a physician who specializes in diseases of the ear, we recommend that you schedule an appointment with one of our board certified otolaryngologists prior to scheduling an evaluation for hearing aids. If your primary physician is certain that hearing is your only problem and gives you medical clearance for hearing aids, you may schedule directly with one of our audiologists Alexandra Cortese, Jody Eddy, Mark Lisi or Cherise Silverthorn.

During your hearing aid evaluation, measurements beyond the basic hearing test will be made of your ears. Your hearing needs will be discussed and you will be advised about hearing aids best suited to your hearing loss and lifestyle. Impressions will be taken of your ears so that hearing aids (or earmolds) fit to your unique measurements can be made. Expect to spend about an hour for your hearing aid evaluation. Many people find that it is helpful to have a family member accompany them to the hearing aid evaluation. We encourage you to bring a trusted companion with you. If you will also need a basic hearing test at the time of your hearing aid evaluation, please tell the receptionist so that additional time may be allotted. Your new hearing aids will be ready in approximately two weeks from the time you order them.

At your hearing aid fitting appointment, you will learn to use and care for your hearing aids. For most people, this appointment will be one hour. Learning to use the hearing you have with new hearing aids is a process. Expect several appointments after your initial fitting to help you make the best use of your new hearing.
