Physician

Dr. Chuma has been in practice in Chester County since 1998. He is Board Certified in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. He completed his Medical Degree and Bachelor of Science in Immunology at the University of Toronto (Canada), where he grew up. His General Surgical Internship and Otolaryngology Residency training were completed at Albany Medical Center (NY). Dr. Chuma has been recognized as a Top Doctor by Main Line Today Magazine every year since 2001 as well as Philadelphia Magazine. A resident of Downingtown, PA, Dr. Chuma has a keen interest in integrative medicine, in particular how nutrition impacts on health. He is an avid runner and skier and enjoys spending time with his family.

Dr. Downey has been practicing Otolaryngology in Chester County since 2009 and was recognized as a Top Doctor by Main Line Today Magazine in 2013. Dr. Downey completed his medical degree at Creighton University in 1996 and his Otolaryngology training in 2001 at the Madigan Army Medical Center in association with the University of Washington. He achieved board certification in 2002 and 2012, and is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. From 2001 to 2004, he was an assistant professor at Madigan’s Otolaryngology residency training program. From 2005 to 2009, Dr. Downey served as the Chief of the Departments of Surgery and Otolaryngology at Martin Army Community Hospital, Ft. Benning, GA. Dr. Downey resides in Chadds Ford, PA with his wife and two kids. His hobbies include travel, drums, and college football.

Dr. Hoffmann has been practicing in Chester County since 2009. Main Line Today Magazine has named him among the area’s Top Doctors every year since 2013. Dr. Hoffmann attended college at the University of Delaware and completed his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He completed his Otolaryngology training at the National Naval Medical Center and the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He then spent 4 years as Lieutenant Commander/U.S. Navy physician specializing in Otolaryngology at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Okinawa, Japan. He is Board Certified (2006) and a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Hoffmann became the Otolaryngology section Chief at The Chester County Hospital in 2021. Dr. Hoffmann lives in the West Chester area with his wife and three children.

Dr. Ward has been in practice in Chester County since 1999. In 2014, Main Line Today Magazine named him as one of the area’s Top Doctors for the fourth time (2001, 2008, 2013). He attended medical school at Georgetown University and completed his Otolaryngology residency at the University of Virginia. He is Board Certified Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery (1999) and completed a Fellowship in Facial Plastic Surgery at the University of Washington. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Ward served in the US Navy from 1990-1994 as a general medical officer at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, and as Battalion Surgeon for the 7th Communication Battalion, Third Marine Division in Okinawa, Japan.

Dr. Mattioni is a native of Chester County and is returning to the area to practice with CCOAA. She attended Penn State University – Schreyer Honors College for an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and went on to earn her Doctorate from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed a general surgery internship and an Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery/Facial Plastic residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where she served as Chief Resident and was chosen as Resident of the Year. Dr. Mattioni is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, and the American Osteopathic Colleges of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology. She is board certified in Otolaryngology and was chosen as a 2021 Main Line Today Top Doctor. Dr. Mattioni resides in Kennett Square with her husband and three children. Besides practicing medicine, she enjoys traveling, running, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Cortese has been practicing audiology with CCOAA since she received her Doctorate of Audiology in 2008. Dr. Cortese graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders and received her Doctorate of Audiology from Central Michigan University. She is licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and is a fellow member of the American Academy of Audiology and the Pennsylvania Academy of Audiology. Her special interests are adult diagnostics and adult amplification. Dr. Cortese lives in Springfield, PA with her husband and their son. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and going down the shore.

Dr. Lisi has been practicing audiology since 1998, serving communities in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania before joining CCOAA in 2004. Dr. Lisi graduated from Loyola College of Maryland with a Bachelors of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (1995) and received his Masters in Audiology from Towson State University (1997). He obtained his Doctorate of Audiology from the Arizona School of Health Sciences in 2006 and served as an adjunct faculty member for the school from 2006 to 2012. Dr. Lisi is Board Certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Dr. Lisi resides in Chester County with his wife and two children. He enjoys landscaping and hanging out with his family.

Ms. Eddy has been practicing audiology with CCOAA since 2010, prior to which she spent 20 years serving the hearing and audiology needs of Newark, DE. Ms. Eddy completed her Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Hearing Science at Thiel College (1988) and obtained her Master of Science in Audiology (1990) from Gallaudet University. She has been licensed in both Delaware (1991) and Pennsylvania (2010). She has been Board Certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association in Audiology since 1991. Ms. Eddy has guest lectured at LaSalle University, West Chester University, and Delaware’s Listening Conferences. She is also fluent in Sign Language. A resident of Landenberg, Ms. Eddy enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two young adult children.

Dr. Resendiz joined CCOAA since graduating with her doctorate in Audiology from Salus University in 2019. Dr. Resendiz graduated from Purdue University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. She is licensed to practice in the state of Pennsylvania and is a fellow member of The American Academy of Audiology. Her special interests are diagnostic testing and amplification. Dr. Resendiz grew up in Chester County, and currently resides in Downingtown with her husband, daughter, and dogs. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, going down the shore, and watching professional football.

Ashley Stavish, Au.D., joined Pinnacle ENT in 2022 and provides audiology care at our Exton, West Chester and West Grove offices. She received her undergraduate degree from West Chester University and her graduate degree from Salus University. Ashley is licensed to practice audiology in Pennsylvania and Maryland. She has prior experience in private practice, hospital and ENT office settings. Ashley is a member of the American Academy of Audiology and specializes in diagnostics and amplification of adult and geriatric patients. She’s motivated to help people improve their quality of life through better hearing and enjoys educating them on the effects of untreated hearing loss. Outside of the office, Ashley enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, hiking, trying new foods and baking.

Cathleen is our Speech-Language Pathologist with over 15 years experience.  She has worked in a variety of settings prior to specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of Voice / Laryngeal disorders, Head and Neck Cancer, and Dysphagia within the ENT setting.  She joined our practice in 2016 and sees patients in our Exton office. Cathleen graduated with a Bachelors of Arts from Towson University in 2002 and received her Masters of Science in Speech Pathology from Loyola College in Maryland in 2004.  She holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association and is a member of the ASHA Special Interest Divisions 13-Swallowing and 3-Voice Disorders. Cathleen lives locally in West Chester with her husband and three children.  She enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her family.
